Do Not Take NSAIDs After the Treatment

You might feel a little sore or stiff immediately following your treatment. The discomfort may tempt you to take over-the-counter pain relievers like aspirin or ibuprofen. However, you should avoid NSAIDS at all costs because they can slow your progress. 

Targeted cooling can cause inflammation, which enhances your body’s ability to eliminate fat. Any discomfort caused by your CoolSculpting® treatment should dissipate within one or two days. Still, to experience results more quickly, you should avoid NSAIDS at all costs for the first two weeks after your treatment. 

Wear Loose Clothing or a Compression Garment

A compression garment keeps treated body parts secure without suffocating them. You can wear one that fits your treatment areas to enhance circulation and ease swelling and discomfort. It helps you avoid using NSAIDS while still finding relief from the mild symptoms. 

If you don’t own a compression garment, you should pick a loose, comfortable outfit that doesn’t fit snugly around the treatment areas. Tight-fitting clothes that do not meet the compression requirements can impede circulation, chafe the treatment area, and prevent oxygen from flowing through the skin’s surface. 

Drink Plenty of Water

Upping your water intake during your fitness journey helps you maintain energy levels and stay healthy. You likely already know that many health professionals recommend increasing water consumption following most aesthetic or medical procedures, and CoolSculpting® is no different. 

Your body uses water to eliminate waste and toxins from your body. It flushes out internal pollutants and helps your body heal from injuries and exercise. Your hydration habits are influential in maximizing the effects of your treatment and overall fitness journey. 

Do Not Lift Heavy Items After the Treatment

While an active lifestyle can enhance your CoolSculpting® Elite results, it can also slow your recovery. Therefore, you must avoid strenuous activity and heavy lifting for three to four days after your session. Excessive physical activity might increase any soreness or swelling you experience. 

Trade your intense cardio or weight-lifting workouts for gentle yoga, slow walks, and similar gentle exercises. These options enhance circulation and warm your muscles without stressing the targeted treatment areas. 

Massage the Treated Area

Massages are another fantastic method to recover and maximize your CoolSculpting® results. Since the process freezes fat cells, your body might need help releasing the waste materials those cells contain. Drinking water certainly helps. 

However, extra measures can speed up the process and keep the fat off. Schedule regular massages that target your lymphatic system to encourage your lymph nodes to release collected body waste. These services can help you maintain your ideal physique long after your initial CoolSculpting® sessions. 

Limit Alcohol and Caffeine

Everyone should limit caffeine and alcohol, no matter where they are in their fitness journey. Both can stress your body and trigger the release of cortisol, a hormone that can lead to increased body fat.

Caffeinated drinks dehydrate your body’s cells. They act as diuretics, which trigger your body to waste hydrating fluids. This can cause you to urinate excessively. You might also experience increased inflammation and discomfort. 

Meanwhile, alcohol can cause similar diuretic effects. It can also cause more dramatic side effects, like bruising and swelling. Wait two to three days after your initial CoolSculpting® sessions before you consume these substances. If you enjoy a caffeinated or alcoholic beverage, limit your intake as much as possible.   

Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle

Like other fat-reduction procedures, CoolSculpting® works best when clients engage in healthy habits. A balanced diet and regular exercise are integral to elevating and maintaining results. Try these tips to enhance your physique:

  • Trade fatty foods for protein. Protein builds muscle, which helps you retain that ultra-sculpted physique. Fats, especially unhealthy ones, will increase your body’s fat stores. 
  • Choose whole grains over enriched scratches. Whole grains help you feel fuller for longer. Meanwhile, refined or enriched breads and pasta lack the nutrients that their whole alternatives boast. 
  • Stay full of fiber. Fibrous fruits and vegetables can increase your intake of essential vitamins while keeping you satiated. Plus, fruits can satisfy your sweet tooth, which leads to the following recommendation. 
  • Limit your sugar intake. Sugar, significantly refined sugars, can increase your body’s inflammatory response. It can also contribute to fat stores.
